For those who don’t have any clue about page rank (PR), PR is the method that Google uses to measure the power or strength of your web page, and with every link that comes into a particular page, the PR of it will increases. It is not a website as whole that enjoys a particular PR, but an individual page. So if the main index page haves a PR of 5, the sub page may only have PR of 2. The maximum PR you can get to your website is 10, which recently I know belong to Google search page itself.

It seems that over the last few page rank toolbar updates there has been less to document regarding page rank 10 sites. Over the last two updates we have seen sites like Apple, Microsoft and NASA drop from a pr 10 to a pr 9. However with this last update we have seen even more of a drop.

Much ado about nothing! Gooogle’s Page Rank is probably the most hyped non issue that has taken the webmaster down the slippery slope of misinformation I have seen in a long time.

The Google page rank is calculated with an algorithm that is calculated with incoming and outgoing links of the page. It is as the name suggests a ranking system of pages. Your page rank is decided on the number of different criteria, standalone keywords, keyword in URL, and reciprocal linking. The Page Rank is rendered on the number of one way links that report back to your site and go out to other sites, and the other websites page ranks. Like everything about google the formula for figuring out page rank is a mystery and Google will not reveal their code. Google page rank is a way for consumers as well as partners that may have an interest in you, to find out your web site value in terms of search engines.
